Holistic Healing


Holistic healing can be encapsulated into three properties:  The whole person, natural elements, and personal empowerment.  It is the perspective that our health and wellness are a function of all the aspects that we are - and how we interact with our environment.  It is the empowerment which means that we take responsibility for our own well-being. Thus, we are the result of our choices and actions every day.  

Legacy's holistic treatment approach is unique in that we use the power of the wilderness along with personal growth to empower men to become the person they want to become.  With the natural connection to our environment strained, we believe in giving our men the skills they need to bring more balance into their lives.​

We designed the Legacy program to treat the whole person.  "There is something about the wilderness that has a cleansing affect.  Something in the sound of the wind through the trees, the feel of sunshine on your back, the trail stretching out and beckoning you to endless possibilities.  As the twilight deepens and the shadows grow in the angles of the mountains around you, the wildness speaks to your spirit and you can begin to feel your soul expand, your inner light to grow." Research suggests the positive effects of yoga on depression and anxiety.  "A recent study from the Duke University Medical Center concludes that having a regular yoga practice can be as effective as an antidepressant for relieving mild depression."  Legacy men practice Yoga for their morning routine for the purpose of building strength, awareness, and harmony in both the mind and the body.
