Nate Hallows

Nate's career in wilderness therapy brings together his passions for working with people and connecting with the healing power of the outdoors.  He moved back to Loa after spending several years in Puerto Rico working for a young adult program.  There he met his beautiful wife Alma.  They now have a son, Lucas Mateo and reside in Fremont.

Nathan enjoys cooking!  He has a great awareness around nutrition and a balanced diet as part of recovery.  He has tailored his menus to meet just about any dietary need.  Nathan understands and embodies the fact that having access to a healthy, balanced diet is crucial. Eating right and practicing good nutrition keeps the body and mind strong.

The Legacy Team

The founders and leadership team of Legacy Outdoor Adventures bring together accomplishments and experience across the full spectrum of wilderness therapy.  Members of the team, led by Gil Hallows, Executive Director, and including Troy Faddis, Clinical Director, Ray Barlow, Admissions Director, and Derek Daley, marketing/admissions, have had a profound impact in defining the field of wilderness therapy.  Team members have played major roles developing effective wilderness programming, establishing risk management and clinical best practices, refining substance abuse treatment in the wilderness, and setting the standard for training professional field instructors and wilderness therapists.
